Lebala Camp:
Look all so inncoent, but as I son learnt breeding heards are not to be messed with. Up in the Linyanti which is bordering the Caprivi strip there are herds of plenty ele's. on our game drive past many elephants no problem then came to another herd which didn't like the look of us. The three of them above started charging us with there calf inbetween them. Seen in the pic the three are circled around the calf. We thought they had enough then the one came at us full tilt going through trees and all chased us for bout 10 minutes.
PomPom Camp:
Flew two guests in and had a hour waitover in the camp. As we got out the plain the guides said there was a leopard spotting in the ,orning on kill. so we jumped on the vehicle and foound the mother and her younger male cub. They were so relaxed got right up next to them.
Selinda airstrip:
Whilst repairing an aircarft, posted "Bush Repairs" we heard the cheetah calling in the distance and when a game vehicle came past they took us too see it. There were two older male brothers in the area that had always hunted and done everything together but they had been split up and calling looking for the other, which earlier that morning walked right past us while we were busy.

The Omelet
Tradition has it said:
When you go "online", your first solo flight with passengers in the Delta, you have to have your omelet on the Friday.
Ingredients: 1 x raw egg, 6 - 10 shots of whatever shooters they decide.
Method: 1. Put full raw egg shell and all in mouth and chew.
2. Drink all of what is in your glass.
3. Keep it down.
4. PasS oUt, well I did.

Opening case: On the eve of the 6 February 2007 the accused Mr EEHAW
Opening case: On the eve of the 6 February 2007 the accused Mr EEHAW
In an intoxicated state proceeded to answer the question, "why did the Donkey cross the road?". Whilst the others watched in anticipation. Unfortunately the question was never answered, As the vehicle, The Pink Panther, in question was on its way to find some arse and unfortunately collided with the arse of the injured Ass, Mr EEHAW, who was in the middle of the road at the time of the incident.
Closing Statement: We the deffence Believe it was a simple accident of unfortunate circumstnces that lead to the Arseing around.

Over night in Pom Pom camp
We are privilaged enough to get the occasional over night stay in one of the many camps we charter to, as it is more viable to leave from there in the morning than going all the way back to the airport then out there again in the morning. On 11 January myself and Paul (bags) spent the evening in the bush with hippo's just in the water next to us, there was no sounds of civilisation only the great wilderness. Watching the sunset over the trees with an Ice cold Hunters dry, AHHH!!, yes i've changed brands again. After the sun had set we were treated to an awesome three coarse meal and then a visit from the rare Pel's fishing owl in the dead tree near to us whilst sitting around a bonfire.
The First of many - Maun, Botswana
Maun the portal to the " Okavango Delta".
I'll be flying for Moremi Air Service, doing charters, camp transfers and scenic flights. As majority of the delta is only accessible by air in the flood season there is a lot of flying to be done.
When peak season begins, around May there is just flying all day every day.
Weather is similar to Joie's but hotter in summer averaging in the high 30's Celsius.
What is now green all becomes brown and dead in the winter as the rains have ceased. But the rivers flow with life as the rains that have fallen 6 months earlier north in the mountains of Angola begin to filter into the delta and beginning the floods. Trees are swallowed beneath the water and open plains change into islands. With all the water now concentrated in the delta so the animals follow and masses congregate in the delta for the life giving water....
